Key Features:
Extra Ductility: The primary feature is enhanced ductility, which provides a high percentage of elongation (a minimum of 16% to 18%). This allows the bars to bend and flex significantly without breaking, which is crucial for structural safety.
Seismic Resistance: Due to their high ductility and ability to bear dynamic and seismic loading, these bars are highly resistant to earthquakes.
High Strength: They possess a high minimum yield strength of 550 N/mm² (typically 550-590 N/mm²) and a high tensile strength (typically 660-700 N/mm²), ensuring greater load-bearing capacity.
Low Impurities: The bars feature low levels of phosphorus and sulphur (LPLS), which are detrimental impurities that can cause brittleness.
Corrosion and Fire Resistance: They have excellent rust and corrosion-resistant properties, making them suitable for exposure to moisture and salinity. They also resist fire with little loss of strength at temperatures up to 500°C.
Excellent Bondability: The surface of the bars has ribs running across their length, which allows for superior bonding with cement and concrete, enhancing the overall longevity of the structure.
Weldability and Flexibility: They are easily weldable using standard processes without preheating and can be bent and molded for modern architectural designs.
